...into msconfig you should be able to safely remove all the checkmarks except for Systray and LoadPowerProfile which sould be there......that way you will probably get a system resource performance of more than 95% and notice a great difference after you reboot...
also delete the "temp" folder from the windows folder (it'll reappear next time you reboot, but now you will have some xtra free space) and delete all the offline content, then scandisk and defrag and you will have a brand new system!!!
