slow writing speed on sata 3 HDD.

i have got gigabyte b-75 d3h mobo and it has a sata3 port and connected a wd caviar blue HDD 500 gb .when i tranferred folder(7 gb) it took 30min with speed of 30MB/s.pls suggest why and a solution ?is this normal.i got windows 7.

Slightly. The blue 500GB sounds like a normal spinning hdd and not an ssd. This means you won't get anywhere near the 300/600MBps that you would think you'd get by using SATA 2 or 3. I would still think however you should see more then 30MBps. Was this a lot of little files? Or off a really slow drive? Or maybe a copy from the same blue drive to itself?

it was 900 songs in i folder.and yes i was just shifting it from one folder to another in same partition from same blu drive.is it a drver issue or some other issue pls tell.thanks for answering.

Nope, probably perfectly normal. Lots of small files from one mechanical drive to the same drive is probably around 30MBps.
