I was wondering how bad a 5700xt will bottleneck a fx8350, 8gb ddr3 ram, am3+ mobo. It's only for a few months as each new part needs funds. Currently using a 270x which is trash for any mediocre game (batman Arkham series). I built the system back when 200s were new so that shows its age. But would a 5700xt just kill the cpu or would it actually run "older" games better. By older I mean timeframe of the Arkham series.

Solution
You got it backwards, an 8350 will bottleneck the 5700XT. That cpu is really old and not well optimized for modern applications, or old ones for that matter. You will not utilize the full performance of the graphics card.

Also I take it you are not using a motherboard that has a PCIe gen 3.0 ports, since there was only 1 of those boards available at the time of launch for the 8350, so that's another loss of performance for the graphics card. I would upgrade the rest of your components as soon as you can to get all the performance you are paying for with that card.

Thanks for a reply. I'm definitely doing a new build just it comes down to buying a cpu/mobo/ram or a gpu. The current build still works but I know the 270x is trash so i was thinking of changing that first just to get a boost so I'm not watching lego batman 3 have the screen splitting from poor frames. Even other games show the line where the video is trying to catch with the rest of the screen. I dont know if it's on its last leg or if just the whole system itself is horrible. I know the fx series wasnt the best but it did work for the time when it got built.

I know, I had the 8350 as well, but with a GTX 780. So I never really experienced bad FPS. If you're sticking with AMD, which you should at this stage in development, you should get a 2700X, 3600, or 3700X for pure gaming needs.

Looking at a 3800x but I'm also debating on a 3600x. 3700x is more of a if I'm going to buy that might as well do a 3800x with a little bit of a price tag. So to me either if I'm in impulse buy mood or not will depend on the 3600x or 3800x. Also I'm more of a amd person since I never had luck with intel or nvidia products.

Either of those options are fine, as long as you know what you're buying and what's also available.
