Hello Guys!

I registered here because I have a Problem with my new Samsung SM951 MZHPV512HDGL - 00000. Its not detected by the BIOS (EFI) or direct in Windows or Linux on the Intel HM87 (Lynx Point) mainboard. I know, that on this mainboard the harddisk should be operational, because on an different hardware configuration of the same laptop its pre installed (http://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-ZenBook-Pro-UX501JW-Notebook-Review.142308.0.html) Do you think this is a software based problem? What can I do to fix it? What options in the BIOS are recommended to get things working?

Thanks in advance!

1st - make sure you've got the latest BIOS release installed on your mobo. You've also got to first partition the M.2 SSD as "GPT" not MBR but there are a number of settings in your BIOS that have to be changed as well

RamCity has a pretty decent installation instructions, including installing windows to the drive - read thru them and follow them carefully - it was a hair puller getting mine installed

and here's a thread over on the asus motherboard support forums for installing the SM951 on a X99 mobo - you might search for your mobo but the bios settings should be the same
