Solution
That is the Dual BIOS button which allows you to switch between Legacy and UEFI (a 'friendlier' interface). There are some advantages to enabling UEFI, as Sapphire points out:
"Faster boot and resume times
When compared to the legacy BIOS, systems with UEFI has a much faster boot and resume time to the OS"
found here http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/product_index.aspx?pid=2036&lid=1 - almost at the bottom, titled "Dual BIOS (Legacy and UEFI) Support"

UEFI shouldn't hurt your system and it seems from your experience so far it doesn't look like it is bad. All it will do is provide a better experience (which may not be noticeable like faster boot times) and more features. (whether you use them directly or not. They are there.)

It isn't bad, the reason it doesn't come enabled by default is that older systems require the legacy mode otherwise Sapphire probably wouldn't have included legacy BIOS to begin with (UEFI is the newest BIOS interface)
