[SOLVED] Small plastic piece stuck under motherboard

While I was removing my Lenovo yoga 520 base cover a small piece of a clip broke off and went underneath the motherboard. I tried tilting the laptop but it’s not coming out. What can be done to remove the clip? Or should I just leave it there?

If it was plastic and not moving around you might cause as much harm getting it out as leaving it if you're not all that knowledgeable about disassembling laptops. But if it can move about freely and theres moving parts it could become lodged in and render them broke, such as optical drive or keyboard keys, it might should be gotten out. If it's metal you really need to get it out. If you don't think you can disassemble enough to remove it then it may be time for a pro.

Thanks for the quick response. It’s wedged pretty tight in there so I guess I should just leave it there for the time being since it’s plastic.

You might try using a can of compressed air to dislodge the item to the point you can remove it.
