small woofers?

Hey,

How small can you get a subwoofer? I know they are generally large, but I wasn just wondering how small you could find one...like maybe to hook one up to a laptop or something...*shrug*

i dont know how small you can get a subwoofer, but i doubt a subwoofer any smaller than my altec lansing (more or less 1.5' x 1') wouldnt be worth buying. subwoofer work off of the physical principle of being able to produce very long wavelength sound (deep tones). it follows that physical SIZE is actually one of the leading determining factors of a subwoofers quality!
why dont you invest in a set of small, yet high quality, speakers?

It was more of a curiosity thing.

Heh - maybe you can get one of those weird things that you put on a surface and they cause it to vibrate like a speaker...stick it on the back of your laptop or something...

if you turn off the giant subwoofer that is behind the seat, then listen to the tiny about 1" speakers they are pretty good.


i think you can get a subwoofer almost as small as you want, however it needs to have a long range of motion foward and backward. so yeah.

but in general the bigger the louder
