Hey everyone, I'm looking for a new case for my computer, as I'm going to college soon and am looking for a smaller setup. The only problem is that my motherboard is an ASRock Z97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150 motherboard, which means,( I think), I can only look for ATX Cases.

Basically I'm looking for the smallest case that is compatible with my components!

My Parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/adam_subtractem/saved/zz4BD3

New case would just have to be smaller than my current Corsair SPEC-02 ATX Mid Tower case. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139043)

I am not really looking to change my motherboard, as I am already a broke college student...

Thanks again!

Well it's decidedly different that's for sure, thought it was BTX at first. My only issue would be with the cpu cooler, there's no way a hyper212 will fit, looks like you'll need something more along the lines of a 120mm AIO like a h55 or h80i gt

Those are mini/micro ATX towers. They don't fit a full ATX mobo. That's going to be an issue. As well as your cooler. The hyper 212 is 160mm tall and simply will not fit in many small ATX towers. I'd give serious consideration to just what you can and can't live with or without.

So I guess this guy ( https://www.amazon.com/RIOTORO%C2%AE-CR1080-Compartment-Support-Dedicated/dp/B01D205IXS/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_i ) is my only option? As long as the cooler can fit...

Or I can also purchase a smaller cpu cooler

You've got a g3258 on a Z board. I'm going to assume it's got some decent OC for game playing. So a decent cooler is somewhat of a must, because downgrading will mean lowering performance, then you might just as well own a console. So what you'll need in that tiny case is a cooler that's equitable to the hyper 212 yet takes up no space above the mobo. You can mount a cooler that's upto 120mm tall. Basically what you'll need is a corsair h55 or equivalent liquid cooler. Here's the home page.

I really appreciate your help so far, but i dont have the Pentium anymore. (http://pcpartpicker.com/list/P8sxcc )
But I guess that case is nice, but is it even smaller than the case I have now? Corsair SPEC-02 ATX Mid Tower?

Thank you!

Look at the case dimensions. An ATX board is @12x9 inches. No way around that measurement. Standard ATX mid towers have the psu sitting below the level of the mb, not next to it. So most cases are about 20x14x6 roughly. That case barely fits an ATX board, so while you are looking at 14x14x6 (figures out of my head) you aren't really looking at much difference. A few inches shorter. In the grand scheme of things, no real difference. It would take a move to a mATX/M-itx board and a possible mini tower (those tiny hp/compaq/gateway towers) to make a major difference. And you'd still need an aio or htpc type air cooler (cryorig c7) if you want anything better than stock.

Me,id just deal with the bigger case, not like it's going to get lugged around much like a laptop.

Yeah because even if I do end up switching to a mini atx my 212 evo cooler might be too large.. I mean I could just use my stock one that came with the cpu, as I'm not even overclocking.

The board I would really have to get would be the Gigabyte GA-B85M-DS3H-A (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128822&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=) because it's micro atx & has 4 ram slots.

The case then would probably be rosewill (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147166&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=) or fractal (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16811352062)

both really nice.

Shit you're right, but I already have 4 sticks of ram!...

Just so you know you can do so much better in the same price range. Upgrades your to the i5 6600K processor and everything. Changed all the vendors to reflect the real price without hidden shipping cost and all trusted vendors. Actually lower price and upgrades you big time. That's a good small case add the extra 120mm fan in the front blowing in.

These work a lot better than a WIFI card if the router is in your house (get the AV 500 if in budget plug right into the wall outlet not a surge protector)

As I appreciate your help a lot,, how would I afford all of these upgrades? lol all I wanted to do was make my pc setup smaller... My case is too large for a small college dorm, and I guess after some research, my only option is to swap motherboards and get a small case that can fit the small board.?

As I would love to upgrade my pc its honestly not in my budget but i appreciate your efforts a lot.

So is this (https://www.amazon.com/RIOTORO%C2%AE-CR1080-Compartment-Support-Dedicated/dp/B01D205IXS/ref=sr_1_10?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1471210680&sr=1-10&keywords=%22full+atx%22 ) my only logical move? Because if I go through the time & effort of getting a smaller motherboard and smaller case (not even talking about the problem with 4 ram sticks) I'd be out much more money and time than I bargained for?

No. Takes the same amount of time to swap to the new case with the old mobo as in swapping everything but the old mobo to the new case. As to budget, that's up to you. $80 for that ATX case or $100 for a smaller board, smaller case. (h97 has 4x ram slots and everything a z97 does except OC so no sacrifice of connections or quality)

Well the h97 motherboards are about $70
+ the price of a smaller case

Look up, the asrock anniversary is a decent h97, its $66 and the case is $30. Total is $96. The RioToro case is $79. Not all that much difference in price, but is that $17 worth the difference in case size since that h97 will do everything the current z97 will do except OC, and the op has an locked i5.

Check out this case, probably the smallest that can accommodate for my graphics card & cooler

Nope.

If you traded the hyper212 for a Raijintek Aidos or other 92mm cpu cooler, then it'd work, I couldn't find exact dimensions, but possibly a cryorig H7 would work too at 145mm tall. In my experience a 80mm fan makes a considerable amount of noise at full rpm, which will happen with the Ranger-m unless you spend extra for a Noctua/Phanteks with normal sys_fan connectors as the Ranger-m has direct molex psu connector fans. No fan speed control whatsoever.

Well would I even need the 212? I still have my stock cooler, + I don't overclock..

Raijintek Thesis Window

this is the most compact full ATX case.
170cm CPU fan
280cm GPU
ATX PSU
Glass windows (2 side)
