SMART at 100% healthy and corrupted files

Solution
If the problem isn't consistent, that definately makes the problem solving more difficult. I'm not sure what else you can try at this point.

If the drive is under warranty, I'd contact Kingston. You may also want to check Kingston's support pages and/or forum for information.
Thanks for the reply Hawkeye. It's Kingston and yes, I have tested using their own tools, with no luck.

Also used Hard disk Sentinel to do a surface scan and it show 100% green.

Malware antibytes and Kaspersky TDSSKiller show nothing also.

Could it be the MB (which is old) or the HD controller? Maybe the CPU, which I've bought on ebay?

Possibly. Some things that can cause corrupt files are:

1. bad over/under clock.
2. failing sata/ide controller.
3. failing motherboard
4. dirty power from the outlets - a battery backup or a line regulator will fix this.

Also, some older mobo's that use nvidia chipsets used NForce drivers/software that had issues. I don't recall the version numbers of the bad software. Anyhow, one was the nforce sata/ide driver was bad. The other nforce driver was the ethernet driver. The bad version would corrupt any downloaded files. In this case, using updated (fixed) drivers remedy the problem. You could also use the default windows drivers in place of the nforce drivers.

Other than that nothng comes to mind at the moment.

Thanks for the update Hawkeye22. Problem is I have used this MB for years with non SSD disks with no issues. Maybe the new CPU or the combination of sata controller + ssd.

Thanks for the update Hawkeye22. I have double checked the cables. I have indeed added an extra disk I use to backup and storage. Anyway how do you suggest I confirm that to be the source of the problem?

Are you asking how to confirm the sata cables? If so, replace the suspect cable with a new one and see if the corruption stops. If you don't have a spare sata cable or don't want to buy a new one, then swap the sata cables on the SSD & hard drive and see if you get corruption on the hard drive or if corruption on the SSD stops.
