Hello

Cut a long story short, I had virgin media hub 3 since launch. I have added Alexa, smart plugs and wifi boosters/extenders ever since and before in the case of wifi boosters/extenders.

So, I was due to upgrade about 4 months ago, and virgin media kept tying to get me to upgrade to the hub 4, then an automatic sending out the hub 5.

I have decided to use my own passwords, and my own wifi name. I had before used the Wifi name, but kept the password provided by VM.

Is there away I can update the passwords to my devices, so I don't have to reset them all and reprogram them all back up to what I need/want with routines, timers, reminders etc?

I can't see why you can't just key in the same ssid and password in the new router as you were using on the old one. I doubt there are restrictions from the ISP. It is extremely common to change the SSID and password and I don't think they care what the password actually is. It would be really bad if they could see what your wifi password is because then hackers might be able to see it also.

Note most so called booster are wifi repeaters. These use something called WDS. This is considered a security risk and you might have to enable the feature on the new router. Some you must put in the mac address of the repeater so you only allow repeaters you know about.

Hello

Yes, I did a check to see who or what devices were currently connected and there was 2 devices I didn't recognise or work out what they were. So, as I was using the same password but changed the name of the WIFI network, I thought that I will just change the wifi and passwords provided on the new router, and use my own, so I renamed the network back to what I have had it setup as for the last 10 years or more, and I changed the password to something only I would know.

I haven't really had any problems changing over the plugs, WIFI routers, Alexa's.

I am only having problems now with Broadlink and Apple TV HD box (not sure version)

I have the broadlink setup, however it says that I can't add any scenes due to "This device currently does not support scenes" So I am not sure if I have to reprogram all my remotes that I have setup.

What I did was backed up the broardlink via the app, it took a while then some non European language said something. (I don't speak other languages), so I get the sim eject tool and reset the broadlink, I then reconnected the broadlink to the new wifi, and I go into the scenes that I had setup years before and add them to the broadlink I just reset up. Sounds simple to me, but nope. I have tried backups etc and they are all in the same language as before, so I managed to screenshot it and it basically said it failed.

So, with Apple TV, I cant get to the wifi section to change the password. It just says wrong password entered when I click the wifi. So, I decided that it would be easier to reset the settings on the apple tv, so I do, then when it asks to connect to my wifi, it won't, again saying password issues. So, I thought maybe its due to the fact that its somehow remembering the old password. So I setup a hotspot, connect or at least try to connect to it, but it again won't let me add a password, just says that the password is wrong.

I know apple would help with this issue, but I am going to bed now, so if you know anyway to resolve my issue, that would be great, else I would be contacting apple support twitter and somehow find support for broadlink.

Thank you
