Smashed DVD drive

So when the bay was open, I accidentally smashed it from the top, and it bent a little. Now the drive won't go in. It goes in about 1/2 an inch and comes back out. Can I fix this, or is it totally gone?

It's not worth messing with, replace it with a new one.
