smashed pins AMD processor

Hi, HELP? I have a Compaq CQ5210F PC that read CPU Fan Fail Sunday night. I opened up & didn't know what a CPU was & removed the fan to blow air or look & clean & smashed the AMD Athlon II X2 215 Dual Core processor. I just kept looking & google university with youtube realized I damaged it. Is it worth buying a new one & replacing. I believe everything else is alright with the power & motherboard but who knows what I've done now. I just use for surfing, email & some of my kids homework. Any suggestions or toss it?

replace the cpu? dual cores should be reasonably priced since everyone wants quad cores and up.

Anything more than just replacing the CPU will run into a few hundred $$.
