Hello everyone!

I don't know if this is the right place to post this.
I'm having a problem with my SMCWPCIT-G 108Mbps Wireless PCI adapter on my widows 8.1 32-bit system. Before I installed windows 8.1 I was using Windows XP Professional and my Wifi card was working very well.
So the problem is that the card is recognized by the windows, but won't work. I installed that driver what I had on XP, because in its description was "For all windows".
Everything went well during the installation, I restarted my PC but when I opened up the "control panel" of the card it said <Wireless card not found>. What? Why?
I couldn't find driver specified for windows 8.1, maybe it simply not compatible with this version of windows?

System spec's:

CPU:AMD Athlon 64, 3500+
RAM: 2GB DDR-2
WIFI CARD: SMCWPCIT-G 108Mbps Wireless PCI adapter
/Aida64 displays: Atheros AR5001X+ Wireless Network Adapter/

Any help will be very welcome.
Thanks in advance,

The SMC webpage has a driver that was updated in 2014, but if you download it there are only drivers for XP and older versions. The www.atheros.cz site has drivers for Vista, but no Win 7 or 8. I think for $20 you really need to abandon that old card and order a new one.

Something like this or
this if you only have PCI slots.

Well, thank you for the quick reply. Sad to hear this.. I really got used to make my own wifi connection to my phone with this card. 🙁 I spent a whole day with looking for a porper driver but no luck 🙁 But I wondering that can be a XP driver forced to install on windows 8.1? and will it work well if it's possible? Thank you anyways! :)
