Smite low fps on a high end machine

Hello, recently Smite has been running at around 20 fps. I was wondering if any body on this site could help me troubleshoot this issue. I have provided my pc specs below

Windows 10

G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4.0gb

MSI 970A-G43 ATX AM3+

AMD FX(tm)-4300 Quad-Core

That cpu will bottleneck that gpu in most games along with this, Smite isn't optimized that great especially with cpus that don't do well in single thread performance that is my guess. Has the game always run slow or is this a new problem?

the problem is new. I'm pretty sure it isn't the processor because I had a crappy laptop that could max the game with good framerate.

yes. I've also uinstalled using DDU and reinstalled with geforce experience

Check your mb temps . That board has a history of VRM failures and fires .

If it is overheating the cpu will be throttling badly .
The only real fix is a decent mb
