Hi everyone, I just finished upgrading my machine and turned it on and smoke started coming out. I had upgraded my PSU with an EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 650W 80+ Gold. I had also upgraded my graphics card to a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 XTREME. These were the only changes I made. I immediately unplugged the machine and thinking it was the video card I reinstalled the old graphics card (750 ti) when I turned on the machine again I saw sparks in the hard drive bays.

The machine worked great right before the upgrades so I'm fairly sure it was the new parts.

What went wrong? I'm wondering what part likely failed? I'm guessing the PSU? How would I go about testing to see what parts are still usable?

Here's the parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Jakash/saved/yvnGf7

First unplug it before anything. Than take a flash like and look at the Motherboard for any burnt spots. If it looks good put your old psu in and test it out. I suspect the board but without a visual we dont know for sure
