Smoke coming from motherboard

So, I got a new power supply and hooked it up to my computer. At first everything worked fine but I forgot to connect my system fans and shut the power off through the psu switch after that my computer wouldn't boot.

I switched the power supplies and nothing changed. So, I removed everything but the motherboard and my computer started smoking. I think it's the motherboard but the smell of smoke was coming from the thre top of the case where the power button was located.

can you try a different psu? if it boots up with a diffrent psu then the psu blew if not then the psu might have blown and taken the motherboard with it

I have and the same thing would happen. The fans from my cup and gpu would spin for two second then just stop working.

the board might have a short take everything out of the case and try booting it up if nothing happen then your board might be dead

Yeah that's probably it and do you think power supply is worth keeping or no?

the 500w is not designed for heavy use its more of a budget psu i would go with a evga g2 550 watt
