Smoking after optical drive plugged in

Hey there,
Hoping someone out there can help me. Got my new build all up and running, got into the BiOS and all. Quite happy since this was my first build. Pushed on the button to open up the optical drive to start installing the OS, and it wouldn't open. Being the noob I am, I figured I forgot to plug in the DVD drive. Opened up the case, plugged it in to the PSU, closed it up again, and started it up. Got smoke coming out the top, shut it down right away, and now I'm really freaked out. Not sure what to do now.

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case
PSU: Corsair Builder 750W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H77-DS3H ATX LGA1155 Motherboard

Can someone help me figure out what to do from here on? I hope I didn't ruin anything, but I doubt it.

if your lucky you have one melted connector on your power supply and a melted connector on your cd-rom drive. at most you have to buy a new cd-rom drive. never plug a computer part in when the computer is on most devices not made for hot swapping and you can as you found out bend pins or short devices out.
