specs:
Ryzen 7 7800x3D
ASRock B650i lightning
Windows 11

So a few days ago i realized that i have only been using 4 cores due to msconfig it was at 4 cores 8 threads then i removed the “number of cores” check and not it shows 8 cores and 8 threads. In ryzen master is shows SMT is disabled but my bios says that it is, i have also enabled cpu virtualization. Any suggestions?

I want to clarify that I have the following settings on in bios: custom pbo curve of all core -30, pci virtualization, deep sleep, fast boot off, and xmp profile on (64gb DDR5 6800 cl 32)

P.S. I tried resetting bios to default and the issue persisted also tried with SMT off in bios and same result

Can you show screenshots from?
Task Manager - Performance/CPU section and
msconfig - Boot/Advanced options and
BIOS - where it says SMT is enabled

Does your BIOS properly identify the CPU?
yeah thats what confuses me is I don't think this was an issue until i was testing things a few weeks after built probably jan of this year where I enabled 4 cores on boot via msconfig to speed up boot time but realized it was taking forever cause my memory was training, now that I turned that off SMT wont be recognized as on in windows

Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone I was able to figure out the issue, all I had to do was disable the option for "gaming mode" in bios even though that was the setting that was supposed to auto enable SMT and CCD it did the opposite :)
"Gaming mode" In BIOS was supposed to disable one CCD in dual CCD in R9 x3D Ryzen because the added cache was only on one CCD. That made OS and games use cores without cache and lowered performance. It's useless for single CCD Ryzen and only disable SMT. Since then Windows 11 were "fixed" and properly recognize CCD with x3D cache, use only that one in games that support x3D and cores in CCD without it are used only when really needed.
