So, AMD Overdrive (thermal margin) is the most precise temp measure on AMD CPU's?

It seems that only AIDA and AMD Overdrive are showing me real temperatures.

While I'm AIDA64 stress testing, AIDA shows 65c temp and Overdrive shows 20c margin.
Is that good? It seems like 80c for my AMD 860k is max temp.

I guess as long as I have 2digit number in thermal margin under load, I'll be ok.

Don't know if I would call it 'accurate'. It uses an algorithm.

I personally prefer to use an older version of AMD OD that still shows me the temperature. HW Monitor, HW Info and Core Temp are also good for monitoring temps. But it seems the sensor algorithm is internal to the CPU hardware.

At idle you will get readings that are clearly too low. But under load they are pretty close to actual.

Core temp often shows me very low idle temps, even to 0c. Speedfan is kinda more realistic, 25c idle and hwmonitor for example shows 60c idle 😀

I mean, AMD Overdrive should probably be the most accurate, you agree?
