So conflicted - which GPU to buy?

I've got a 7870 2GB and it's done me well but I want to upgrade. I can't decide between these three cards:

ZOTAC GTX 970

MSI R9 290X

I understand coil whine is a notable issue with the 970s so that's a concern but power consumption and heat is just as much a problem with the 290x. So....
What do you guys think? Which one is the better purchase?

r9 290x against gtx970---gtx970 as you said its far more power efficient,quieter and cooler

no coil whine from my gtx970

and i would go for msi gaming gtx970,gigabyte g1 gtx970 if your case can take a 30cm card or asus strix gtx970

those are being reviewed everywhere as the best 3 gtx970

I say go with the EVGA 970. The R9 290x is a great card too but it consume more power. EVGA has a great warranty system too and that for me is a major selling point.

Yeah I think I'm leaning toward the EVGA one right now because of the warranty.
