So confused about 4790k, 6700k, and the two chipsets

So I'm in one of my really confused stages of building, specifically with my processor. Now I'm not just a video editor, I'm not just a gamer, I'm kind of both. So that means I'm planning on quite a few PCIe cards.

So obviously, what will I be using is the first question? I will be using at MOST (worst case scenario), 2 crossfired graphics cards, 1 WLAN card, 1 PCIe SSD card, and 1 USB 3.1 adapter.

So I bought the 4790k, and a MOBO with Z97 chipset. So my question is, would the Z170 and 6700k be overkill for all these PCIe cards, and if not, will they all work fine using the Z97 chipset?

For further specifications, my WLAN card is x1, if I got an SSD (probably won't though), it'd be x4, my USB 3.1 adapter is x4, and from what I see x4 is the minimum for crossfire.
