7600k beating 7700k in almost everything gaming in 1080p and 1440p at 144-165hz?!?

So to start we are both on Acer XB270HU and XB271. They are 1440p 144hz ips with g sync monitors and currently, my brother is running a 7600k with a 5.3ghz clock with a -1 AVX Offset.. he won the lottery on his chip basically and while I expect it to be awesome and fast I didn't expect it to out perform my 7700k while still at 4.9ghz and a slightly worse -2 AVX offset.. however I am also running 16gb of 2400 DDR4 and he is running 8 of the same speed. Also we both running Evga 1080 FTW Hybrid liquid cooled cards

Does anyone have any thoughts??

Faster clock speed = better performance in most games since their not really taking advantage of 4 cores. Their very few games that can take advantage of more than 4 cores.
8GB of memory vs 16GB also don't matter unless the game can use more than he has.

if he can push the overclock higher then the clock on yours it will result in better performance, as Zerk said 8gb vs 16gb RAM is pretty negible for gaming right now
