So, I recently bought two 1080ti's and put them into my rig in SLI configuration with the EVGA HB Bridge, my setup is as follows:
i7-4790K
Corsair H100i
Asrock z97 Extreme 6
16gb DDr3
750w Gold Certified EVGA PSU
ROG Swift 1440p 165hz Gsync
250gb Samsung 840 SSD
1TB Samsung 850 pro SSD
1TB WD Black HDD
NZXT Hue (LED lights thing)
I've been reading around these forums for days trying to find a solution before I made this post, and simply put nothings working, I'm getting below 60 fps in several games, and my GPU utilization almost always stays below 75% (usually hovers around 65) While my CPU gets into the 90's
Just to give some background I in the past two days have removed and reinstalled graphics drivers with DDU, and after that I did a full windows reinstall.
Now I had heard about the 4790k bottlenecking 1080ti's in 1080p but could the same thing be happening here? Even though I'm playing in 1440p?
Could this be because my motherboard is running them in 8x / 8x? Is my 750w PSU not enough? I do have LED's and 2 SSD's to go along with my HDD....Also I did not notice any noticeable changes when enabling / disabling G-Sync I know people were saying that that could cause issues with Pascal SLI. Honestly I just don't know where to go from here, I was getting better performance with my 980ti classified. Could one or both of my cards be bad? (Also should I overclock my CPU?)
