SO I BOUGH A FAULTY GTX 970 OFF OF eBay

So basically I bought a gtx 970 4gb off of eBay and everytime I download or try and uninstall the driver for it (I've tried latest and previous both freeze my pc and then reset it). So I have no clue how to fix it. Help

Have you cleared all previous drivers using DDU?
When you say freeze, elaborate, BSOD? Just freeze indefinitely?
Does the problem still occur in safe mode?

I would change the Thermal Paste.
