So I bought a QNIX 1440" monitor.. and its faulty on arrival

I bought a QNIX 1440p monitor.. it arrived this morning.

Plugged it on connected to pc etc, and had a bunch of red artifacts on the entire right hand side of the screen.

I thought it was a DVI cable problem, so I went to Maplin and bought an overpriced one for £24.99, same problem. I then thought it was my 7970 in crossfire that was an issue, so i removed both, tried each one at a time with both DVI cables - same problem.

I purchased it from 'accessorieswhole' on eBay - have not had a reply from them yet but have opened a case.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Have I been sent a defective monitor/panel or am I missing something silly.

I have tried many refresh rates to see if that was the issue. 30hz, 60hz 96hz all the same. at 120hz there was also green artifacts so I assume 96hz is the max.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

DVI (and HDMI) uses digital signals, it either works 100% or not at all. Dont get suckered into premium cables, they do nothing.

Yea, looks like the monitors defective. Surprised that it got through QA, though it could have been a shipping accident.
Reckon the most you can hope for is that you get it refunded or replaced, but dont know how successful RMA attempts are on those budget Korean panels.

yeah, i know the cables are a total rip off, only bought one because i am inpatient, its okay they will accept it back.

Ah, really sucks that they send items out like this. I very much doubt it was damaged in transit as the packaging was in tip top condition.

Whats worse is I don't know if I can claim back the VAT/customs I paid for the monitor (UPS charged me £43)

I am guessing the seller will expect me to return the monitor at my expense and eat the VAT cost. I have made it clear in the ebay case that i am not going to pay for return postage as it arrived faulty.

hopefully they accept liability and cough up.
