[SOLVED] So I need new CPU, MOBO and RAM...

Hello guys, I'm back, and thank you so much for helping me on my last post!

My current setup is the following:

• RTX 2060 Super
• i5-3570
• 8GB RAM DDR3
• Mobo: ASRock H77 Pro4/MVP
• Case: Zalman Z11 Plus (just in case, pun intended)
• I play on 1080p

I want to remove the bottleneck, so I'm thinking about getting an i5-9400F, but I don't know what motherboard I should get. Also, is the 9400F a good option? I know I could get the Ryzen 5 3600 but it's way more expensive and I'm in a budget right now (the i5 is 160€, the Ryzen around 230€).

Remember, the Ryzen system is unlocked for OC'ing should you decide to OC. The Ryzen CPU is also threaded, meaning it has 6 core/12 threads. This can help massively in CPU demanding games like BF V. Also, if you were thinking of streaming your games down the line, then out of the two the Ryzen is the only option.

At 1080p the Intel base, will get you about 5% more FPS game dependant. For any other task the R2600 would be better. I've chosen the 2600 over the 3600 just for the price difference and to keep the budget low.

Thank you so much for your detailed answer. The 2600 is 30€ cheaper than the 9400F and that's great.
How about bottleneck? Which one will work better with the 2060 Super? And strictly for gaming, no streaming or anything, which one is the best option? I'll play BF1, maybe BF5, Cyberpunk 2077, Witcher 3, those ones are the games I plan on playing that are somewhat very demanding. Also, which one is more future proof?

No probs, you're more than welcome.

Although the straight 6 core CPU (I5 9400) is the better gamer at 1080p by a few %, I'd be taking the more capable CPU. Neither CPU will bottleneck the 2060.

Without a doubt for me the more 'future proof' (I hate that term) would be the R2600. It's a much more well rounded CPU, that is 95% of the gaming chops of the Intel, but so much better at everything else too. For the games you play, I'd take the 2600 (I play the same games too). BF1/V has a very capable game engine, and it can use all 6 cores and 2-3 threads too. The I5 9400 will max out usage in certain scenarios, where the 2600 will not.

Glad to be of help. Just a side note though: If you could go the extra 50-60e for the 3600 it has an IPC upswing of 15% on average over the 2600. In fact, for the first time in a long time, Ryzen 3xxx (Zen 2) has better IPC than Intel chips. But Intel still win out with purely faster clock speeds.

The R2600 is a good choice, and will serve you well for approx 2-3 years at the top end of gaming. You can always OC it a bit too, which will give you a few more FPS
