Hi Guys,

So my current PC is crashing under high load probably a heat problem (A8 3870k) i never liked that CPU anyway but it was ok at the time i bought it and i was able to play CounterStrike.

So i wanna switch out the Mobo Ram and the CPU my budget is 200-220€.
I already have a GTX 970, HDD´s, a PSU and a Case. When i get a fulltimejob im going to switch the i3 out for a i5(K) or i7(K) and put the i3 into an ITX Machine so i can take it to friends for playing Beat'em'up´s or something like that. Im going to add a SSD later this year anyway but nothing big only like 128gb

Well basicaly its like this:

  • Intel Core i3 6100 2x 3.70GHz So.1151 BOX 112€
    MSI H110M PRO-VD Intel H110 So.1151 Dual 52€
    8GB Crucial CT2K4G4DFS8213 DDR4-2133 35€

What do you guys think about it ?

Solution
Heatspreaders on ram are purely cosmetic. It was important back in the days of DDR2 when we were running modules at 2.2v, but nowadays with Skylake DDR4 at 1.2v it's definitely not necessary.
