A friend of mine works in IT, so he gets to keep his clients old computers (Im not really sure what his job is exactly), he decided to give me a Quadro 4000 just out of the blue. So my question is what should I do with it? I already have my own PC with a gtx 1060 (3GB model), and I know that quadros are used for work mainly, so should I just sell it? If anyone has any other Ideas they are welcome, I just don't want it to sit around and collect dust while someone else could be using it for actual work.

The quadro looks brand new with only a little dust on the fan.

If you have a 3GB 1060, you don't really have any use for it.

Yes, a Quadro is certainly more geared towards 'work' more than anything else.
I would try to sell if, if it I were you - but realize your market is limited. Anybody who needs a Quadro, likely already has one.
On a gaming front, a Quadro 4000 should perform in the same general ballpark as a 550TI - so not particularly viable these days.
