So is the GTX 980 Ti a thing or not?

I heard reports everywhere and still nothing. It was allegedly coming out this month. What happened? Is it a hoax? It seems kinda odd for NVIDIA to release a new card then release another one so soon.

Only unsubstantiated rumors. Plus both AMD and Nvidia have said there are delays on the new nodes due to phone companies snatching up all the sub-28nm resources.
