so much lag

Ok, so I recently got a pc and when I downloaded rainbow six siege, everything was fine. About a week into it I started experiencing a tramendus amount of lag. My ping will be fine and then just spike up in the thousands. My game would freeze for a second and then go back to normal. It would do this a lot. About a week after, everything went back to normal. About a week after things went back to normal, it’s happening again. What do I do? My pc is powerful enough for it.

Nvidia rtx 2080
2 terabytes hard drive

The game freezes
