So my internet has been awful lately. I used to be able to watch YouTube in 1080p without buffering, but now it goes down to 144p . I have an Ethernet cable and i can't count how many times i have restarted the modem. please help!

Have you checked with your service provider to make sure there isn't an issue with your service? Are you on a limited plan that lowers your download speeds when you exceed a certain amount of data?

I figured it out. There is something wrong with the ethernet cable. Thanks for helping though.
