currently i have XPG Spectrix D41 TUF Gaming Limited Edition RGB 3200MHz 16GB (2x8GB) CL16-20-20 on my rig. on some of the games i reach up to about 10-12gb of ram used.

im currently looking for a 32gb kit to give myself more cushion and i figured, that if i am going for more space, maybe i should get for a newer set?

Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200 (PC4-25600) CL16-20-20 $114
XPG Spectrix D45g 32 gb 2x16 3200 cl16 $110
team force RGB 32gb 2x16 3200 cl16 cheapest at $86
XPG Spectrix D50 RGB 32gb 2x16 3600 cl18 $110

Solution
As your computer is for gaming, upgrading the RAM to 32GB is definitely very recommendable.

The Corsair price seems good to me, and it's a brand you can trust.

It won't hurt anything adding ram but if you already have 4-6GB unused I doubt you will see any diff.

More memory is always good
Whether you will see benefits or not depends on how efficiently games/aps you are using use available memory

You could also use any confirmed extra idle ram as a large dedicated i/o cache - still beneficial even with ssd especially on heavy i/o applications that dont use all available ram efficiently
