so sound lg 24gm77

I just got the lg 24gm77 and I'm trying the hdmi sound (running 2 monitors one HDMI one DVI) in the windows playback area it shows sound coming out (the levels are moving up and down) but no sound coming out of the onboard speakers.

Are there any sound settings on the monitor itself that you need to tweak?

I have the sound on the monitor it self at 60, no sound coming out, if I swap the default device to my headphones my headphones have sound for some reason its not playing threw the speakers...
could it be a bad device?

Onboard speakers are not connected to HDMI. The sound is in HDMI if you use that as sound device. If you don't have a device that can output sound using HDMI then you need to change the sound device to your sound card. Plus it will need to have passthrough if at the same time you want to use HDMI for display as well.

Assuming you have one in motherboard or separate sound card. Or does the screen have headphone jack, one model has.

sound does go threw the hdmi there is no plug in for sound ect...

What is the exaclt model of the monitor?

LG 24GM77-B has plugin for headphones. I could not find other sub models but there might be some. The exact model reads on the back.
