[SOLVED] So which is better ryzen 5 2600 or i5 8600k?

Solution
For gaming, faster single thread performance is usually most importance.
That would favor the 8600K, particularly with an overclock.
Few games can effectively use more than 4-6 threads.
The exception is multiplayer with many participants.
That might favor the 2600.

If you are buying new, I would not buy either; there are better choices.

At about 6:18 in the video, the gaming comparisons at 1080P in BF5 ensue; you can see 9600K (pretty much a rehashed 8600K anyway)/2600/2700X (and numerous other CPUs) comparisons, and reach your own conclusions. (Although the 2600 in BF5 does not quite match a 7700K, I'd bet that the 2600 or 2600X would fare much better once streaming, etc., thrown in, if that is of concern, vice simple bare gaming.)
