socket 1155 pins

Hello!
I've recently got my Asus P8H61 M-LE/USB3 and I've noticed some things
Some pins (3 or 4) were bent, but not very badly. i managed to bend them back, but 1 unfortinantly fell off. i double and triple checked it, it was an vss pin, which isn't that big of a deal since there are a hell of a lot more
but there is something very strange
at the socket, it looks like there is a gap in there. but when i get a closer look i can see that the pin inbetween them is actually not so shiny as the other ones are. from far away it looks like theres a gap and no pin in there but when i take a closer look the pin is indeed there

i'm about to buy an i7 2600 and put it in this mobo. will everything work?
also, can it be that the cpu bricks?

If a pin is missing from the motherboard socket, replace the motherboard.

Every pin is used for something.

it's not the missing pin that makes me uncomfortable since the pin that fell off was a vss pin and as i looked up it isn't that big of a deal if 1 is missing, i'm more concerned about that pin not being shiny as other ones

I'd replace the mobo also
