I have a Socket 775 Motherboard that I cannot get the USB ports to work. During boot-up they both work. I can change options in the bios, the lights on both keyboard and mouse are on, but when I save the bios info and the system boots up to the Windows password login they both turn off and then nothing. I cannot enter my password nor do they respond to anything I do. I have re-wired the motherboard, reset the bios, but nothing seem to work. There is probably a simple solution to this problem but I cannot come up with it and need help.

USB Keyboard works in BIOS, but not the Windows login screen...

That tells me Windows doesn't like something about that chipset. Have you tried all of the USB ports?
Can you move the USB mouse at the Windows Login Screen?

Easiest solution is to get a USB to PS/2 adapter for the keyboard.

Both my mouse and keyboard are USB, so I do not think that cable will help me. I have not changed the chipset and the computer was working great until I changed out the video card. I was using a Nvidia FX1800 Video card and switched it out and replaced it with a XFX HD 6950 graphics card and have had this problem since then. I removed the video drivers of the Nvidia FX1800 before installing the new card. After that no keyboard, no mouse.
