I just bought a new desktop. After setting it up, I inserted my headphone (HyperX Cloud Core) then suddenly there are soft static crackling sound.

It is soft because it does not interfere when you listen to a music (or maybe you can't here it because it is soft). But when it is quiet or when you are not listening to anything, you can hear it. It is so annoying.

I tried inserting my headphone to my other desktop and my laptop but I don't experience the soft static crackling sound. I also tried inserting other headphones and earphone into my desktop (the one where I experience the annoying sound) but and I also experience the annoying sound.

What could the problem be? Thanks for the help.

I use Realtek HD Audio Manager and I tried updating my sound card but it is still the same.

My motherboard is Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 3.

EDIT 1 : It seems like I'm getting interference from inside my case. I think it's the HDD working that I'm hearing. Is this normal for a motherboard like mine? Should I get it replaced. I'm still under warranty.

Try to uninstall driver then reinstall it. Restart system once you install drivers. Install all chipset drivers too. Try connecting you audio backside of cpu dont connect in front jack.

Hi Gopi_9. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. I even tried reformatting my PC but the problem still persists. As of now, I am only using the back audio ports of my cpu. Although, the ports that I use doesn't matter because they both release the same soft static/crackling sound.

Is it a problem in my motherboard?
