[SOLVED] Software alternative to KVM.

Im looking for a software that would allow me to control my work laptop from my personal desktop.

I basically want a very low latency software that will function as a temporary KVM switch. I'd rather not spend a ton of money on a hardware that I will use for 6 months.

They will both be connected via ethernet, and my network is very fast. (<10 ping, ~500Mb Up, ~500Mb Down). Ive tried LiteManager, and it worked alright, but there was a bit of delay, and its limited to 25 fps.

Thank you, I can clarify on anything that is confusing.

Ive tried Remote Desktop, but Ive had issues connecting through it. Perhaps I should pursue that option further, but my networking guy at my schools (essentially my ISP) wasnt able to help me figure that out either.

I connected to the laptop, but it asked for login credentials, and nothing that I tried would work.

I've gotten that far, it prompts a login credentials screen after I connect to the IP. Everything I've tried on that screen doesn't work however.

My laptop should be setup correctly, but the schema for entering the domain/username and password is giving me problems.

The slash actually goes the other way. And not domain, but rather system name, assuming they are both in the same domain or workgroup.

I knew about the slash, just a mistype on my part. Im not at my home network atm, so i cannot test it. As far as the domain or workgroup thing, I believe that might be my problem. My main pc is my personal station, and I'm trying to connect to my work laptop. Is there a way to connect the two since my control over the network/router is limited?

Your work PC and home PC are on different networks? That makes this much tougher.
In the above example, both of mine are on my home LAN.

TeamViewer would do this, but you'd need to be able to install it on both systems.
