Software link cable corsair AIO

Is it required for the AIO unit to work? I don't care about the software. But the cable that connects to the pump, and down to the bottom of the mobo. Is it needed? I just think it looks ugly, and can't find a great way to hide it enough.

No part of corsair link is required just connect the block to the CPU and mount the rad to your case then plug the power in to one for the fan headers
