Hard drives are mechanical and can be tested using some benchmark software like Seagate SeaTools and many free tools. At this stage, you can review the parameters in its S.M.A.R.T. readout, and it should look normal.
To actually stress test it using many apps, it could make the hard drive die sooner than later if there is already some issues. If there are not issues with the drive, you won't be able to find out even after stress testing.
The best practice for mechanical hard drives is to install them properly and make sure it's installed in an environment that's relatively cool and with low vibration. Both factors deteriorate the life span of hard drives.
