I have an A4Tech HS-100 that doesn't play any sounds .I think that the problem is the volume controller because from begin the on/off button never worked.
Here is an image of the controller.

I wanted to know if I remove the controller and solder the cables will it turn on the sound with maximum volume ?

Solution
i wouldnt know how the wiring loom is set, but you could try 'shorting' instead of removing first.

eg connect/bridge the wires, if it works, remove offending controller. i mean if the controller dont work anyway, theres no danger in 'damaging' it with shorting.

but i would first advise you as to looking into your 3.5mm plug? xbox and pc 3.5mm are not always compatible due to the banding used?
