Hi, non-techie looking to buy a new laptop and somewhat overwhelmed by all the choices, Here are my answers to the questions we are supposed to provide:
1. What is your budget?
Up to $3K Canadian
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
15 inches
3. What screen resolution do you want?
Not sure.
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Portable
5. How much battery life do you need?
8 hours (guess)
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Word processing, watching youtube, no photo or video editing.
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
Don't know
9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
No specific sites
10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
At least 5 years
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
Do not even know if I need one.
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
I guess I am drawn to brands like Dell, Microsoft, and HP since, based on my admittedly very limited knowledge, they appear to have good reputations. But open to other possibilities.

As you may infer, I am not a techie, and probably do not need a particularly powerful computer (although I am open to playing Madden 23). On the other hand, my budget is not that limited and I do want quality that will last. I get migraines and eyestrain so I want the visual experience to be "easy". I am a technical writer by profession and like a nice "clicky" keyboard. Definitely leaning to 15 inches over 13 inches.
