Hi guys, don't know why it's functioning like this. This is a brand new PC with good specs:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7000 CPU @ 3.60 Hz, 3.60 GHz
RAM: 16 GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
Windows 10 Pro
Version 1803
OS Build 17143.48

Games like PUBG and Dota 2 work fine at around 60-70 FPS, but for Witcher 3 and The Forest it's at 10-11 (max is 14 FPS).

CSGO is around 43-45.

Don't know what I'm doing wrong here.

Solution
Look at the back of your case and see if the cable plugged into the spot where your gpu is installed or into the motherboard. The motherboard would but vertical and the gpu horizontal. You might also need to check the game files via steam seeming as how pubg works decently while the witcher does not

I bought the PC two days ago and updated the Nvidia driver from Device Manager. Took quite a while to do that.

Just a few minutes ago I rolled it back to a previous version and there was no change.

I'm installing GeForce Experience now.

Been doing a little research too - I have my monitor connected to my PC via HDMI on both ports. I read that I should be using my GPU instead. Am I supposed to use VGA instead to connect to the GPU?

Turn your graphics quality settings down all the way and see what your FPS are. Although not the norm, your best bet would be to go into the Nvidia Control Panel and select "let the application decide." This will ensure your the Nvidia settings don't override anything. Also, go to the launchers and/or executables, right click, select Properties. Compatibility, and make sure "disable fullscreen optimizations" is checked. This setting has been causing a lot of FPS and stuttering problems on folks' systems.

Your cables should be connected to the GPU; whichever ports on the GPU won't matter much unless you are running a 144hz monitor. I would recommend DVI if you have it.

Do you have the HDMI's connected to your GPU or Motherboard? If connected to your motherboard then you are using the onboard graphics and not the GPU, i wouldn't connected it via VGA there's no need to

Odd thing is I don't have Nvidia Control Panel on this PC when I built in. I actually installed Windows 10 using a USB media installation so I'm downloading that too.

I've gone all the way to the lowest of settings in Witcher 3. What's super weird is even at medium or high it's still a solid 10-11 FPS.

Thanks for the tips, I really appreciate it. Will try them in a while.

That's what I was thinking. And I actually don't know how to check that. Do you know how?

I appreciate your help man

You saved me so much time and money. I looked at the back and saw it was connected vertically. Did a little bit of looking around and I was like, "Huh that thing looks like a horizontal HDMI port... must try it" Turned off my PC, put it in the horizontal port, lunched Witcher 3 and I'm now at 60 FPS on Med settings

Thank you so much man

Thanks to Sadlah and caledblwch too! You guys were helpful
