Alright let's make this simple.
I Bought a new PC for my gaming needs, a Q6600 on a P5N32-E with 2GB RAM and a 8800GT, and now comes the time for a monitor.
I currently have a 19" CRT screen by MAG, it's great, I love it, but it takes up too much of my desk space, and I'm in search for a new gaming experience and i'm sure a good LCD screen can help.
I've looked into many threads on the forum and have seen many recommendations etc. I've also done some research in the LCD monitor field, so I am familiar with the current technologies, including panel types.
I'm looking for more than a simple TN panel screen with average, or even above average performance. Just as an example of the kind of level of monitors im looking into, the EIZO S1931SH is one bird I got my eyes on.
What i'm looking for is a recommendation from some serious, experienced gamers, or generally people who really know their way around monitors, and feel for my dilemma. I play all sorts of games, FPS and non-FPS.
I'm open for suggestions on 19", 20", 22" and 24", and I know that in order to get some real performance from a 24" I should be looking at SLI. I'm ready for that and will be more than happy to get that running. In addition, if it is a 19" or 20", 3:4 and 16:9 are acceptable. The budget isn't an issue, meaning I dont care about price/performance so much, as long as it is a VERY GOOD all around monitor, with high contrast, fast response time and good viewing angle. However, price shouldn't be too high, not going over 750-800$.
So, with that out of the way, if you feel you can really recommend a screen that is currently in the market, or even ones that are out soon, from experience or good indepth knowledge of the field, please do
. Thanks.
