I've always heard that solid state drives make your system much faster but i dont really understand how. Do you install the OS on the ssd and leave it at that or what? If I were to build a pc could I use a ssd with the OS on it and a hard drive for storage?

ty for helping me out

To make it simple, SSD drives are like a super fast but expensive HDDs without any mechanical parts.
Ideally, you can put everything inside the SSD but because it is expensive you put only:
- OS
- programs you open frequently
- heavy loading games
and put the rest on a separate normal HDD.

120gb is too small, get at least a 250 for better durability and longer lasting

58 dollars, well worth the extra money and will work with any computer that supports SATA 3 perfectly, the kingston, not so much, many folks here have durability and usability issues with it and I don't trust their SSDs at all

still, it will be light years faster than the HDD
