My cousin and I are building a new computer, is this a solid computer build? I do prefer Intel Processors and Nvidia Video Cards if you think there is something better for $1000. I'm probably going to need a different heat-sink fan though I'm assuming because from what I hear, Ivy Bridge processors can run pretty hot. Can you assume one that will get the job done?

Here is my suggestion if you are going to overclock and want to SLI in the future. Only used microcenter for products that could be shipped. The MSI motherboard has dual PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, great for SLI.

Just want to point it out since a lot of people are overlooking this but micro center does not ship or give combo deals on cpu/mobo.

Not true about the combo. I went to microcenter today and got the i5-3570k for $189.00 + the ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 for $129.00. Combo deal took $50 off the price of the board, and I got a $10 MIR. Total price with tax $280 (after MIR). Pretty sweet deal. I'd say go take advantage if you have one near you.

Also, I've seen the EVO 212 suggested for cooling a lot lately. Right now, that's on sale at microcenter for $29.99. Personally, I think I'll buy the Zalman just because it looks sweet, is made completely of copper, and has good reviews.

It's a shame I can't take advantage of this Micro Center deals. I live in Northern Michigan and there isn't a Micro Center anywhere near me. The closest one is about a 5 hour drive and I don't have the time to drive down there. We were planning the computer after it was built up so probably no SLI. Thanks for your help though.

Here you go. If you don't really want to overclock, the i5-3470 is just a tick under the performance of the 3570. You could even go with a cheaper PSU (XFX, SeaSonic, Corsair, Antec recommended) but this is a killer deal for a Gold certified PSU that is modular also.
