I need some real help with this i think it is a cable problem but I would like to ask someone who knows more in networking before I go out and buy another cable.
All the other computers in my house that are connected via cable work perfectly fine but my computer is the only one with the problem we have perfect wireless connection and my router has only green lights
I tried typing my IP in the Web browser to get to my router settings but my computer won't bring up the prompt to enter in the username or password
I have tried resetting the router and that also got me no where
On the back of my computer the lan port has a solid amber light on the left and has a yellow blinking on the left please help me with this i am stuck

1| We're going to need to know the specs to your system.
2| We're also going to need to know the make and model of your router.
3| Have you made sure your desktop's LAN drivers as well as the motherboard BIOS are all up to date? Speaking of up to date, Please include your OS.
4| Have you tried using a functional cable at home(off another working Ethernet connected system) and seen if that works? Would be pointless if you went out and bought a new cable to find out your LAN drivers or the LAN port itself was the issue.
