Hi, i would like some opinions for a pc that can handle solidworks and autocad. Gaming not really an issue but is also included (pretty much for battlefield 1). Budget around 1500 including monitor so we are looking at about 1250 without monitor. Thanks.

Autodesk rates GPUs that support AutoCAD but I've been able to get current versions to run on very old hardware. Just because it's rated to support Quaddros means that it's optimized to run the best on these cards, but doesn't mean that you have to use them. I know it works that way for AutoCAD, but I don't know that it works that way for Solidworks or not.

From my understanding, solidworks officially only supports quadro, but I do believe people have managed to work with it, using geforce cards. Autocad I do believe is more flexible, in that regard.

Really? I had no idea that they support only quadro.. Is there any guide or an article to read about how they use geforce on solidworks? And thanks for the build i will check it out later.

http://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/videocardtesting.html I assumed you're solidworks user/owner and you've used to it.
Total US$ 775 with 17 6700K + Hyper 212 EVO + ArticSIlver,

Battle Field Combo Assumed you got Windows 10 OS + SW 2016. If you used to drawing in realview + amb occ with gaming card then you know it's working, despite minor lags one or two, any gaming cards with price tag around US$ 600 will render faster than pro cards with similar price tag. Personally me myself use W7100 for drawing and RX 480 for render/gaming.

Here on Tom's Hardware, a comparison of several graphics cards was made for several different software packages. For AutoCAD, 3 GeForce graphics cards beat the best of the Quadro cards and 4 GeForce cards beat the best of the FirePro cards.

Granted, this was a few years ago, but unless AutoCAD has shifted to a VRay variant, it should still be good information.
