Solution to Just Cause 3 Lag

When I play Just Cause 3 on any settings, I am getting regular lag, especially massive in physically intense stuff. I know the game is notoriously badly optimised but I wondered if upping my ram to 16GB would be worth it?

-i5-7600k
-8GB RAM, 2400MHz, DDR4
-GTX 1060, 6GB
-HDD : ST1000DM003
-Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-Z270M-D3H

is it i5 7600k / i7 7700k?

for the RAM, r u running 1x8 / 2x4? if u're running at 1x8 (a single channel) adding another 8 would help as it allows your RAM to run on dual channel

1x8 would mean your RAM runs in single channel, which effectively halved it's speed [i had a 1x8 DDR3 1333, it can only run at 665), while JC3 are known to be pretty unoptimized [although now it's much better than day 1] so upgrading RAM might help here

by any chance though, do u have any monitoring apps such as MSI Afterburner and such? it would really help to know exactly what's causing this problem [these apps monitors GPU usage, CPU usage, RAM usage, and such]
knowing those hardware usage would really help pointing out the main source of the problem
