Hello. I have a problem connecting the following graphic cards in SLI:
EVGA SC GTX 970 ACX 1.0
EVGA SC GTX 970 ACX 2.0

When I go to the Nvidia Control Panel the option to "Maximize 3D performance" to enable SLI under 3D Settings > Configure SLI, Surround, Physyx is not checkable and grayed out. All the options in that menu are the same. The radio button for "Disable SLI" is checked, and there is a warning that I should connect via SLI bridge.

Here is the rest of my hardware:
-Asus Z97-A mobo
-Intel i5 4690K 3.5 GHz LGA 1150 processor
-EVGA supernova 750b PSU

I have tried two SLI bridges now (flipped, and on both connector positions). I have them installed in PCI-E lanes 1 and 2. I confirmed these were the correct lanes for SLI via Asus support. I've confirmed that they work independently and in both slots. I've confirmed via GPU-Z, Device Manager, and Nvidia Control Panel that each is alive and working independently. And I double checked to make sure they were getting the correct PCI-E configuration, and PCI-E 3.0 16x is enabled.

I'm running Windows 8.1 up to date. Yesterday I flashed the BIOS with the newest version.

I've tried two clean Nvidia driver installs (344.75 and 344.11).

I'm at a total loss of joy over this purchase. I called EVGA and they said it was the mobo. I called Asus and they said it was the graphic cards. Anyone else with a similar setup have this experience?

Thanks in advance!

''And I double checked to make sure they were getting the correct PCI-E configuration, and PCI-E 3.0 16x is enabled.''

the correct PCI-E config for your set up is (dual x8) only. just wanted to clarify that! x16 cannot be set for any PCI-E slot while in SLI mode!
